Why did you begin working for ActionCOACH?

I have always had a passion for helping people to achieve their goals. Whether it has been nurturing sales talent to their full potential or working with businesses to put in systems to maximise efficiency; seeing the difference it is possible to make has been a huge reward.

With ActionCOACH I have the privilege of being able to help business owners in my local community to work fewer hours, get better results from their team, make more profits and achieve their goals. The ActionCOACH system is the best in the world and guaranteed to get results for every type of business.

Tell us something about yourself…

I am an experienced and accomplished business leader with 30 years’ experience in executive management, commercial & business development, sales, marketing, PR, branding and building high performance teams.

I am passionate about business and having worked across 3 continents, I have had leadership roles in both global FTSE & Fortune 500 corporations, and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). With a focus on enhancing ROI, streamlining processes and building high performance teams – I have real firsthand experience of the challenges facing business owners and how to overcome them.

Alongside 30 years of ActionCOACH’s proven success I will guide your business along the path to extensive growth – allowing your business to work for you rather than you spending too many hours working in your business!

I am also a family man with 2 daughters. When they were young I spent way too much time travelling for work thinking I was doing the right thing while what they actually wanted was for me to be around. It was this experience that has made me passionate about helping business owners with their work life balance.

Why do you love working for ActionCOACH?
Prior to ActionCOACH I worked as Business and Administration Manager for Coram Cambridgeshire Adoption and Cambridgeshire County Council’s adoption service for 7 years helping children find forever families. Giving back is important to me!

Tell us something about yourself…
I was brought up on the beautiful Island of Barra in the Outer Hebrides. It has a population of less than 1000 people and the only scheduled air service to land on a beach. It was here that I learned to be a professional highland dancer.

How I spend my spare time…
I love to make an extravagant cake – the more challenging the better! I teach cake sculpture in my free time and my cakes have featured on Holby City and in magazines.

Well in short ActionCOACH is all about abundance and helping others succeed, has a massive vision, and is at the forefront of business and personal growth…who wouldn’t love working here!

What are your favourite past times?
Playing games and having fun with my children. Nothing better than a summer day in the back garden playing all day long. BBQ, fun, smiles, laughter and many games!
Plus…fine single malt, taking my beautiful wife out for nice meals, family holidays and watching action movies!

My title is ‘Lady,’ that’s right…I am Lady Laura Thorburn!

Favourite holiday destination…
I love to travel down to Cornwall with my family; this also means that I can take my dog Archie. But my favourite holiday was spending a month in Indonesia!

Alan is a motivated business growth specialist with 30 years’ professional experience. A Business Coach with 17 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing, mentoring and managing internal and field based sales professional, and a further 13 years managing and coaching world class service delivery teams.

Alan has proven business development and account management skills. Through effective mentoring and coaching in consultative sales processes and other sales methodologies, he has time after time achieved results, increased average transaction values, increased sales conversions, built better qualified pipelines and reduced sales cycles.

Alan also has vast experience in developing effective strategies for businesses he has worked for and with. As well as running a successful small business, I have been an active member on three consecutive senior management teams & boards, delivering real growth strategies and staff engagement.

Away from his desk, Alan enjoys spending quality time with his daughter and is a frequent cyclist.

Bruce is based in Nelson on New Zealand’s South Island.

Since Joining ActionCOACH in April 1999 Bruce Wilson has seen dozens of business owners change their lives in as little as 12 months using ActionCOACH’s simple business principles proven in over 70 countries across the globe.
